Emelie Trahan is a Swedish-American singer-songwriter whose music blends the intimacy of indie-folk with the emotional pull of modern pop. She grew up in a small Austrian town before moving to Vienna and later Stockholm — a journey that shaped her unique sense of identity and belonging, which runs through all her songs. Rooted in a background of musical theatre, folk, and jazz, and deeply influenced by her father’s love for country and jazz and her mother’s musical family, Emelie draws inspiration from timeless icons like Mazzy Star, Alanis Morissette, Norah Jones, Elliott Smith, Coldplay, Nick Drake, and Radiohead — artists who taught her that authenticity and vulnerability are the most powerful artistic tools.

Her debut single „you chose this“ drew millions of views on Tik Tok and Instagram within just weeks of teasing, with follow-up single „Smile More“ drawing the same attention. Now, Emelie is set to release her debut album, Big Believer, led by its title track — her most vulnerable and fully realized statement yet.

Emelie’s artistic vision is clear to create music that feels raw, cinematic, and deeply human. Her songs explore belonging, self-acceptance, and emotional resilience — all wrapped in a soundscape that balances melancholy and light, nostalgic yet forward-thinking. Authentic, soulful, and resilient — Emelie Trahan is a new voice in the indie-pop landscape, bringing timeless songwriting into a modern era. And she’s just getting started.
