WhatsFish EP Launch + Support from A’TH

After a lockdown spent writing and recording we are finally ready to release our debut EP of original music. It is the culmination of our combined influences and lots of hard work, we are very proud and excited to share it with you!

WhatsFish is a 7-piece band specialising in horn-led, groove-based instrumental music, bringing energetic original tunes that draw inspiration from jazz, afrobeat, ethopiques and improvised music.
WhatsFish’s music is born from a love of rhythm and groove in all its mesmerising forms. The band combines influences from diverse musical worlds to create a dance-floor filling, spirit lifting sound.

SUPPORT: Liaam Imam aka. A’TH

Liaam aka. A’TH invites you on a journey through ancestral poetic landscapes, multiple vocal ranges and polyrhythmic drumming, inspired by North African, Celtic, and Balkan music, invoking silenced voices and stories for a moment of togetherness and remembrance. A’th is the solo project of Berlin based singer-songwriter, performer and percussionist Liaam Iman.

Wir haben den Lockdown genutzt, um Musik zu machen – jetzt ist es soweit, unsere erste eigene EP wird released. Sie ist das Ergebnis unseres gemeinsamen Schaffens und harter Arbeit. Wir sind sehr stolz und können es nicht abwarten, sie mit euch zu teilen!

WhatsFish ist eine siebenköpfge Band, die sich auf Bläser-getriebene, Groove-basierte Instrumentalmusik spezialisiert.
Die energiegeladenen originellen Songs sind inspiriert durch Jazz, Afrobeat, Ethiopiques und Improvisaton.

Die Musik von WhatsFish ist aus einer Liebe zu Rhythmus und Groove in all seinen mitreißenden Faceten geboren. Die Band kombiniert Einfüsse aus verschiedenen musikalischen Welten und erschaf so einen treibenden Sound, der zum Tanzen anregt.

Liaam Iman aka. A’TH lädt ein zu einer Reise durch poetische Landschaften der Vorfahren, erzählt durch vielfältige Stimmlagen und polyrhythmischer Perkussions. Inspiriert von nordafrikanischer, keltischer und Balkanmusik, A’th weckt verstummte Stimmen und Geschichten für einen Moment der Zusammengehörigkeit und Andacht. A’th ist das Soloprojekt der in Berlin lebenden Singer-Songwriter*in, Performer*in und Perkussionist*in Liaam Iman.
