Hier das Statement der Band: „Hey everyone, it’s Caleb here! Unfortunately the cold air and very loud sing alongs have gotten the best of me, and my vocal chords have packed it in for now. After consulting with the docs and our whole team we’ve made the tough decision to cancel our upcoming shows in Berlin, Hamburg and Cologne. Cancelling any shows is devastating for us but we were especially excited for our first foray in Germany. Rest assured we’ll be back in a jiffy and in the meantime I’ve taken a vow of silence to make sure the rest of UK/EU run can power on. Your tickets will be refunded at your point-of-sale. I’m truly so sorry for the giant mess around, this sucks – Love you all and stay safe.“

Das australische Indie-Rock Quartett Spacey Jane hat seine Position als eine der beliebtesten Bands Australiens gefestigt.

Ihr im Juni 2020 veröffentlichtes Debutalbum „Sunlight“ stieg auf Platz 2 der ARIA-Charts ein. Vier Tracks wurden in die Hottest 100 von Triple J gewählt, darunter der Fan-Liebling „Booster Seat“, der auf Platz 2 landete. Auch dieser Track kletterte in die ARIA Top 10 Single-Charts und erreichte Platin, während die Band bis heute über 88 Millionen Streams angesammelt hat.

Die Band – Frontmann Caleb Harper, Gitarrist Ashton Hardman-Le Cornu, Bassist Peppa Lane und Drumer/Manager Kieran Lama – verbrachte die erste Hälfte des Jahres 2021 damit, endlich ausverkaufte, pandemiegerechte Shows an der australischen Ostküste zu spielen. „Streaming numbers and chart positions are great, and they’re exciting to watch,“ sagt Caleb, „but we’re a live band. To engage with fans like that, to see the music having that reach, that means everything.“

Sobald sich die Grenzen öffnen, wird die Band direkt nach Übersee reisen, um ihre ersten Shows vor der stetig wachsenden Fangemeinde auf der ganzen Welt zu spielen. Inmitten der jüngsten Tourneen haben Spacey Jane es geschafft, Zeit zu finden, um im Studio zu schreiben und aufzunehmen.
