Oi Oi! Mods, Soul heads and music fans get ready – Angels of Libra are back! With a brand new record, they are gearing up for a tour this Autumn, which will not only showcase their new music but promises to be an even bigger spectacle than their sold out headliner at the Molotow in Hamburg last year that saw all 17 members of the collective on stage together.
This November, you can expect a full 8 piece band, blazing horns, plenty of dancing and a soul experience that is both timeless and electric. The tour begins in Hamburg with two shows in Motte starting on October 31st (right on time for a Halloween special) followed by 3 double-headliners with Berlin based Soul aficionados and label mates ‘The Everettes.’
Last year, the Hamburg based (but largely international soul collective) saw themselves venturing deeper into the world of psychedelic/cinematic music with their ‘vinyl only’ release, the instrumental Space Opera, ‘Astromantics.’
The upcoming record however, by all accounts, will see the Angels bringing love, romance and all things ‘Soul’ back to the front and centre. Re-united with Irish singer-songwriter Nathan Johnston on lead vocals, the album was produced by bandleader and guitarist Dennis Rux (Hamburg Spinners, Rhonda.)
Featuring the all encompassing Neo-Soul powerhouse, Sarife on vocals and accompanied by Hans-Christian Stephan (of Meute) writing brass arrangements, the album is set to be their boldest and most sophisticated effort yet.

Angels of Libra sind ein Hamburger Musiker*innen-Kollektiv mit einer großen Affinität für analoge Aufnahmetechnik, 60er-Soul-Revues und alten Soundtracks. Sie veröffentlichen in wechselnden Besetzungen detailverliebte, retrofuturistische Musik mit Einflüssen von Motown und Daptone bis zu Air, Khruangbin oder Ennio Morricone. Nach inzwischen knapp zwei Millionen Streams, zahlreichen Radio-Airplays, Festival-Shows und ausverkauften Konzerten in Deutschland, den Niederlanden und Irland arbeiten sie nun an ihrer neuesten Soul-Platte mit dem irischen Sänger Nathan Johnston, der die Band bereits seit ihrem hochgelobten Debüt 2022 begleitet.

The Everettes sind eine in Berlin und San Diego ansässige Band, die schon seit einigen Jahren ein Geheimtipp in der Soul-Landschaft sind. Ihre tanzbare Musik ist verwurzelt in Northern Soul, Stax und Motown und mit ihren drei Sängerinnen tragen sie den Zauber der 60s-Girl-Groups in die Gegenwart. Ihr jüngstes Werk „Soul Steps“ ist ein Album, das Antworten auf die Fragen unserer Zeit inerster Linie bei sich selbst sucht. Wie kann man sein Leben für sich und seine Mitmenschen glücklicher gestalten. Wie wächst man an seinen Entscheidungen, auch wenn sie vielleicht nicht immer die richtigen sind. Es geht um Emanzipation und mentale Gesundheit. Um die kleinen und großen Schritte. Und die dürfen auch auf die Tanzfläche führen.
