Plastic Idols is an indie duo formed in the creative hub of Berlin, combining the poetic forces of solo artists Lily Rieke Marty and half of a rainbow. Upon meeting in Germany’s capital in autumn 2020, the two quickly discovered a shared aspiration for gritty songwriting reminiscent of The Velvet Underground and Patti Smith paired with the vulnerable outsider melodies of Daniel Johnston.

Plastic Idols draw influence from a range of past soundscapes, blending nostalgic melodies with dreamy elements of indie pop and the psychedelic spirit of ’60s folk. Whether channeling ethereal guitars, introspective lyrics, or moments of stripped-down, acoustic vulnerability, they craft music that speaks to the heart of emotional and artistic exploration. The duo invites listeners to lose themselves in a soundscape that is both melancholic and hopeful, appealing to those drawn to the unconventional and the deeply personal.

Black Pope’s music has been described by Mojo Magazine as a “neo-rock’n’roll soundtrack of surf guitar rumble”. With a collection of personal songs that play like a horror anthology, Black Pope’s music borrows from classic and contemporary rock’n’roll to take you back to an era that never existed.

Based between Ireland and Berlin, the artist’s past successes have included an appearance at Ireland Music Week, an opening slot for Fontaines DC, and the premiere of a self-directed video for „Werewolf, Man“ at Berlin’s Rollberg Kino. The artist’s debut EP, „Music for Girls Vol. 1,“ has garnered acclaim from Hot Press Magazine, Visions.de, and Psychedelic Baby Mag.

Black Pope’s debut album White Smoke was released in October 2024, with coverage in Clash, Kerrang! and Hotpress. White Smoke was produced by Grammy winner Cian Riordan (known for his work with St. Vincent and Lana Del Rey).

Audiences are drawn to Black Pope’s explosive stage presence, infectious charisma and an insatiable appetite for all things dark and mysterious. For many, this is the end of civilization as we know it. For Black Pope, it’s just another full moon.

Things you’ll hate about Kiki Annette:

1. You’ll swear you don’t cry at gigs. And then you do.
2. You may be tempted to revisit your nicotine habit.
4. Her guitarist is probably a wizard. Her drummer is an absolute weapon. Her bassist is actual Mone herself. They’re all too talented and too polite. How dare they.
5. The wailing guitars and poetic vengeance will make you want to fall in love, then mourn it, then break your own heart.

Kiki Annette is currently recording her debut album at The Famous Gold Watch Studios in Berlin. The record is a constellation of haunted hotel rooms, faded halos, and phantom lovers, but at its heart is a longing for connection, clarity, and the kind of kindness that doesn’t come with a receipt. She will test your emotional equilibrium, but by the end of it you’ll have no choice but to thank her for it.
